THANKS! (plus upcoming performances) - April 27, 2010
The band would like to send a big “THANK YOU” to all of our fans and friends who helped make our CD release party a big success! We had a great time, sold a bunch of CD’s, saw many long-time friends, and met many interesting and wonderful people. We have heard come amazing comments about our new CD, Down by the River. Many people have said that they really enjoy the variety of music. It is now available at Apple Mountain Music and will soon be on CD Baby, or can be purchased at any of our upcoming performances.
Speaking of which, our next gig is Heritage Farm, always a fun time for everyone, followed by the Albuquerque Folk Festival where we will perform on the Showcase Stage. We are polishing some new songs that we hope to debut there, so we hope you will join us for another hour of exciting and fun music! Next we will be at the Lavender Festival in Los Ranchos, and then the 15th annual bluegrass festival in Weed, NM where we expect to see many of our fans from Southern New Mexico.
Release of "Down by the River" - April 3, 2010
We are very pleased to announce the release of our second album: Down by the River. The album contains thirteen tunes, including ten original compositions, ranging from foot-tapping dance tunes to ballads to Gospel and even a lullaby! We will celebrate our new album with a party on Saturday, April 3rd, at Solid Grounds Coffee House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music will start at 7:00. Free coffee and snacks will be provided. Solid Grounds does not charge admission, but donations are accepted. We’ll be performing most of the songs from the album, some old favorites, and some new songs. This should be a fun time for all! Come early – we expect a large crowd!
We would like to thank many people for help in getting this album together but especially Brian Kennedy and Matt Corson at Transduction Productions, Patricia McInroy for the photography, and Dickie Cox for the album layout.
Winter 2010 News - February 18, 2010
Well, we have been on hiatus for quite awhile. But now it's time for us to dust off our strings and hit the stage again. This weekend you can find us at the Albuquerque Botanic Gardens, back at the Heritage Farm. We'll be there on Saturday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It's time for the annual Wool Festival! Watch artisans at work, learn about natural dyes made from plants and follow the process used to turn Navajo Churro sheep wool into sweaters and blankets.
Also, we have been very busy recording our latest album, Down by the River. We had two wonderful days of recording at Transduction Productions. The process was made extremely enjoyable by our engineers Brian and Matt. The album is currently in its final stages of production. We will be having our album release party on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Solid Grounds Coffeehouse. Come by and pick up a copy, this is our best recording yet!
Working on our new CD - December 4, 2009
We are currently on hiatus from performing but we are still quite busy with practices, learning new material and, most importantly, recording our second CD – tentatively titled Down by the River. We spent one day in the studio (Transduction Productions) and expect to go back for a couple more sessions. We had a great time together and it was interesting and weird not being able to see each other during recording because of how the studio is set up. Check out the photos of the recording session! We are extremely satisfied with what we have accomplished so far and we are very excited about the next session and the remaining work to be done. If all goes well it looks like we’ll include 12 songs - mostly original material with a few traditional tunes mixed in for fun! We think this CD will be very entertaining and will be a big step up from our previous effort, both in terms of production as well as proficiency. We know you will enjoy it! Look for announcements in the coming months for details about our CD release party. Have a great Holiday season!
