Art Garcia

Although he’s been playing guitar nearly his entire life, Art Garcia never dreamed how successful he could become as a leader of an obscure, over 35, local band from that haven of bluegrass and Americana music, Albuquerque. Since taking up the mandolin three years ago he has soared to the top of the mid-level-amateur-musician-in-a-small-time-band-with-somewhat-of-a-local-following-but-we-have-a-CD heap. While he enjoys his role as leader of the Muddy River String Band, his secret desire is to play fiddle in a Cajun dance band. Art writes many of the songs the band performs, and many others that they won’t even consider which shows their good taste! He mostly enjoys practice time and private sessions with the band’s bass player.
